Latex format documents can be converted into mediawiki markup format, mostly automatically.
I've written a program, plastex2wiki.py, for this purpose; it uses plastex (http://plastex.sourceforge.net/), a handy package for parsing latex files. The conversion script doesn't handle everything properly, but it does most math, and can deal with figures & captions as well. See the qis wiki for examples of conversion of chapters of the Nielsen and Chuang book, to wiki format.
